Louis C. Bock
Managing Director
Scale Venture Partners

Louis C. Bock is a Managing Director of Scale Venture Partners, a venture capital firm. Mr. Bock joined Scale Venture Partners in September 1997 from Gilead Sciences, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, where he held positions in research, project management, business development and sales from September 1989 to September 1997. Prior to Gilead, he was a research associate at Genentech, Inc. from November 1987 to September 1989. He currently serves as a director of Ascenta Therapeutics, diaDexus Inc., SGX Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Horizon Therapeutics, Orexigen Therapeutics and Zogenix, Inc. He is responsible for investments in Somaxon Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq:SOMX) and Prestwick Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Bock received his B.S. in Biology from California State University, Chico and an M.B.A. from California State University, San Francisco.
Michael Goller

Michael Goller has served as a Director since December 2005. Mr. Goller is an Associate at Baker Brothers Advisors, LLC, which manages Baker Brothers Investments, a family of life science-focused long-term investment funds. Prior to that time, he was an Associate of JPMorgan Partners, LLC where he focused on venture investments in the life sciences sector. Mr. Goller began his career as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch and Co. where he covered basic industries. He holds a B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology from The Pennsylvania State University, and Master's in both Biotechnology (School of Engineered and Applied Sciences) and Business Administration (Wharton School) from the University of Pennsylvania.
Kelvin Neu, MD

Kelvin Neu has served as a Director since December 2005. Dr. Neu is an Associate at Baker Brothers Advisors, LLC, which manages Baker Brothers Investments, a family of life science-focused long-term investment funds. Prior to joining Baker Brothers, Dr. Neu trained as a physician-scientist. He holds an MD from Harvard Medical School and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, and spent three years in the Immunology PhD program at Stanford University. Dr. Neu also holds an AB (summa cum laude) in Molecular Biology from Princeton University.
Charles W. (Chuck) Patrick

Charles W. (Chuck) Patrick was appointed as a Board Director in February, 2007. Mr. Patrick brings nearly 30 years of experience working with and managing high growth diagnostic companies with an emphasis in the areas of sales, marketing, and global distribution. Since 2000, he has worked as a management consultant helping diagnostic and technology companies develop sales, marketing, and distribution strategies. He also served as president and chief executive officer for CallNexus, Inc. From 1990-2000, Mr. Patrick was vice president of sales and marketing for Biosite, Inc., and was instrumental in building the company into a leading provider of rapid diagnostics for drugs of abuse and cardiac products for hospitals. He also played a key role in establishing Biosite’s international sales and distribution capabilities. Mr. Patrick began his career with the diagnostics division of Abbott Laboratories in various sales and marketing management capacities, leading to the position of worldwide group marketing manager.

Mr. Patrick also is a director of OraSure Technologies, Inc., the market leader in oral fluid diagnostics, and previously was on the board of directors for Accumetrics, Inc., a privately held cardiac diagnostic company.
Patrick Plewman

Patrick Plewman has served as our Chief Executive Officer since June 2000; Director since April 2000; President since December 1999; and Chief Operating Officer since July 1999. From our inception in August 1997 through June 1999, Mr. Plewman served as our Vice President of Corporate Development. From 1989 to 1997, Mr. Plewman served in various capacities at SmithKline Beecham, most recently holding the position of Director, Business Development - Molecular Diagnostics. Mr. Plewman holds a B.A. in Chemistry and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
