What is diaDexus??
diaDexus…the name for our company was selected on the basis of the etymological derivation from the Greek, which represents "presaging good fortune in anticipation of future discoveries".

diaDexus also comes from Cathaymyrus diadexus, which originated in Ma'anshan, Chengjiang, Yunnan, People's Republic of China about 530 million years ago.

This is oldest known example of a cephalochordate. The form of Cathaymyrus resembles that of Pikaia from the Middle Cambrian Burgess Shale of Canada, but this animal is about 10 million years older. Some paleontologists have suggested that the vertebrates, which include humans, evolved from cephalochordates like Cathaymyrus.
