DIADEXUS APPOINTS NEW RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVES
Ronald M. Lindsay, Ph.D. to be Vice President and Chief Scientific
Officer, Robert L. Wolfert, Ph.D., Named Vice President of Diagnostics
Santa Clara, CA - November 30, 2000 - diaDexus today announced
the appointment of Ron Lindsay, Ph.D., as vice president of research and
development and chief scientific officer and Bob Wolfert, Ph.D., as vice
president of diagnostics.
Dr. Lindsay joins diaDexus from Millennium Pharmaceuticals, where he was
senior vice president, Biotherapeutics. Previously, Dr. Lindsay served as vice
president, research and development of Millennium BioTherapeutics where he was
responsible for programs in genomic discovery, protein sciences and functional
genomics. Dr. Lindsay also helped manage the collaboration between Millennium
BioTherapeutics and Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals. Before joining Millennium, Dr.
Lindsay spent nine years with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Tarrytown, NY, where he
was a founding scientist. As vice president, Neurobiology, Dr. Lindsay was
responsible for studies that advanced three proteins from molecular discovery
into clinical trials.
Prior to Regeneron, Dr. Lindsay spent four years at the Sandoz Institute for
Medical Research as head of cell biology and seven years with the Medical
Research Council, both in London England. Dr. Lindsay received his B.S. in
chemistry from the University of Glasgow, his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the
University of Calgary in Alberta, and conducted his postdoctoral studies at the
Friedrich Miescher Institute in Basel, Switzerland. Dr. Lindsay is author of
numerous patents and over 150 major scientific articles.
Dr. Wolfert joins diaDexus from Atairgin Technologies where he served as vice
president of research and development, directing programs for the detection and
treatment of ovarian and breast cancers. Previously, Dr. Wolfert was director of
research at Hybritech/Beckman Coulter, where he was responsible for diagnostic
research efforts in prostate and breast cancers, osteoporosis and neurological
and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Wolfert received his B.A. degree in chemistry
and biology from Cornell University, and earned his doctorate in biochemistry
and molecular immunology from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed
his training as a Research Fellow of the Leukemia Society in immunopathology at
the Scripps Institute for Biomedical Research, in La Jolla California. He is
author or co-author of several patents and over 50 scientific publications.
diaDexus is a post-genomics company focused on translating raw genomics data
into novel diagnostic and therapeutic products. diaDexus has utilized genomics
and bioinformatics to identify thousands of disease-associated molecular
targets. Currently diaDexus has two diagnostic product candidates in late-stage
preclinical development.
