DIADEXUS APPOINTS TWO NEW MEMBERS TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Santa Clara, CA - June 19, 2001 - diaDexus today
announced the appointment of Gregory B. Abbott, Esq. and Jon S. Saxe, Esq. to
its board of directors.
Mr. Abbott is the managing partner of the Seattle office of
Cooley Godward LLP, focusing on emerging growth companies in the life science
and information technology industries. Previously, Mr. Abbott served as chief
executive officer at three biotechnology companies: Synergen, acquired by Amgen,
Inc.; Darwin Molecular, acquired by Chiroscience plc and AlphaGene, Inc.
Prior to joining the biotechnology industry, Mr. Abbott was a
partner with Holme Roberts & Owen, where he practiced corporate and
securities law and led the firm's technology practice group. Mr. Abbott received
his B.A. from Yale University and his J.D. from the University of Denver College
of Law.
A biotechnology veteran, Mr. Saxe currently serves as a director
on the boards of numerous companies including: Protein Design Labs; Questcor
Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; Incyte Genomics, Inc.; ID Biomedical Corporation; InSite
Vision; First Horizon Pharmaceutical Corporation and Arbor Vita Corporation. In
addition, he is chairman of POINT Biomedical Corporation, Iconix Pharmaceuticals
and VistaGen, Inc.
Mr. Saxe has served as president of Protein Design Labs and Saxe
Associates; president, chief executive officer and director at Synergen, Inc.
and vice president of licensing & corporate development and head of patent
law for Hoffmann-La Roche. Mr. Saxe received his B.S. in chemistry from
Carnegie-Mellon University, his J.D. from George Washington University School of
Law and his L.L.M from New York University School of Law.
Mr. Saxe takes Dr. Randy Scott's place on the diaDexus board.
Dr. Scott stepped down to focus his attention upon his new company, Genomic
Health, Inc.
