DIADEXUS APPOINTS JOHN KELLER, PH.D., TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS South San Francisco, CA - January 6, 2004 - diaDexus, Inc., a privately held biotechnology company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of diagnostic and therapeutic products, today announced the appointment of John Keller, Ph.D., to its board of directors. "John brings a wealth of experience to the diaDexus Board and we are delighted to have him as the newest member," said George Poste, D.V.M., Ph.D., chairman of the board of diaDexus. Dr. Keller currently serves as executive vice president and chief business officer of Incyte Corporation. Prior to joining Incyte in September 2003, Dr. Keller was with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) since its formation in 2001 and with SmithKline Beecham since 1987. In his most recent position as vice president, business development in GSK's Worldwide Business Development group, he was directly involved in the establishment of numerous product licensing agreements with companies based in the United States, Europe and Japan. Dr. Keller has worked with a wide range of collaborative partners including major global pharmaceutical businesses, mid-sized regional healthcare companies, and emerging and late-stage biotechnology firms, and has been instrumental in developing varied and innovative deal structures including joint ventures and consortia.
